What we collect
A site-specific sign-in identifier, your chosen display name, postcode, eligibility declaration and consent preferences are stored when you create a voting profile. Poll responses contain your choice or rating, account identifier, browser identifier, postcode at the time of voting and a timestamp. Political opinions are sensitive information. We request explicit consent before recording new responses. We store your account email for marketing only if you opt in.
Why we use it
The account identifier and browser cookie help enforce one response per poll. Postcodes support local comparisons. Poll responses are used to calculate aggregate results. Display names are used with public comments when commenting opens. Individual votes and marketing email addresses are not published. Your political choices are not used to personalise advertising.
Email is your choice
Email updates and membership offers are optional. The marketing checkbox starts unchecked. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in Your account; doing so removes the stored marketing email. No marketing emails are being sent from this preview. Any future marketing programme must keep consent records, identify TallyOz and include an unsubscribe route that works without signing in.
Sharing and data products
Personal details, individual votes and individual comments will not be sold. Future data products would contain aggregated, anonymised statistics only. No data sales are operating in this preview. At least 50 responses per reported local poll are required, with further re-identification checks before any release. The threshold alone is not a guarantee of anonymity. No public API offers individual response records.
Storage, service providers and retention
The site runs on ChatGPT Sites with Cloudflare-hosted storage. Service providers may process information outside Australia. Payment, SMS, email delivery and advertising providers are not connected here. Poll responses are retained to maintain results and history; marketing email is removed when consent is withdrawn. A complete retention schedule, processor disclosure and privacy contact must be published before public registration is opened.
Access, correction and complaints
You can correct your display name, postcode and marketing preference in Your account. Changing your postcode does not move earlier votes to a different area. Formal access, erasure and complaints procedures, including the operator’s privacy contact, are still being finalised for public launch. This preview should not be treated as a completed, legally reviewed privacy programme.
